Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Techno Training Institute. These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between Techno Training Institute (hereafter referred to as “the Company”) and its learners(hereafter referred to as “Participants”). By enrolling in any of our training programs, whether remote/distance learning, face-to-face instructor-led, or self-study, Participants agree to abide by the following Terms and Conditions, compliant with South African law, including the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

1. Specialisation and Scope

  • Techno Training Institute specialises in Technology (ICT) training with a strong emphasis on emerging technologies and other courses that fall within the Critical Skills spectrum as outlined by South African educational authorities.
  • Some of our programs include lab-intensive and hands-on practical tasks, where learners engage with real-world scenarios. Certain lab or practical tasks may be conducted through a third-party partner to provide the best possible training experience.
  • While the Company will ensure smooth facilitation of these third-party activities, we are not responsible for any issues arising from third-party systems or services. However, we will make every effort to resolve any problems encountered during third-party activities.

2. Enrollment and Registration

  • Participants must complete the registration process by providing accurate personal information, agreeing to these Terms, and paying the required fees.
  • By registering, Participants consent to the processing of their personal data in compliance with POPIA and our Privacy Policy.
  • The Company reserves the right to accept or decline any registration based on its discretion and course capacity.

3. Training Programs and Modes

The Company offers the following learning modes:

  • Remote/Distance Learning: Online training delivered via digital platforms.
  • Face-to-Face Instructor-Led Training: In-person classroom sessions conducted by certified instructors.
  • Self-Study: Independent study of course materials at the Participant’s own pace.
  • Courses that include lab or practical sessions may require third-party systems and tools. Participants will be provided with access to these systems during the program.
  • Course schedules, instructors, and materials are subject to change. Participants will be informed of any significant changes promptly.

4. Fees and Payment

  • Full payment of course fees is required upfront unless an approved payment plan is in place. Payments can be made via bank transfer, credit card, or other accepted methods.
  • Failure to pay fees within the specified time frame may result in the suspension of access to the course.
  • Course fees may be adjusted periodically; however, changes will not affect Participants who have already paid for ongoing courses.

5. Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • For Remote/Distance Learning and Self-Study Programs:
  • Participants may cancel their enrollment within 30 days of the course start date to receive a full refund.
  • Cancellations made between 15 and 29 days before the course start date will receive a 50% refund.
  • Cancellations made within 14 days of the course start date or no-shows without prior notice will not be eligible for a refund.
  • For Face-to-Face Instructor-Led Programs:
  • Participants may cancel and receive a full refund if cancellation is made at least 30 days before the course start date.
  • Cancellations made between 15 and 29 days before the start date will receive a 50% refund.
  • Cancellations made within 14 days of the course start date or no-shows without prior notice will not receive any refund.
  • An administrative fee of R2500 may apply for all cancellations to cover processing costs.
  • Cancellation by Techno Training Institute:
  • In the event that the Company cancels or reschedules a course, Participants will be notified promptly and offered the option of either:
  • A full refund, processed within 10 business days, or
  • Transfer to another course of equivalent value, subject to availability.

If transferring to a course of different value, the Participant will be refunded or billed for the difference.

  • Special Circumstances:
    The Company reserves the right to consider special circumstances (e.g., medical emergencies, force majeure) for refunds or transfers on a case-by-case basis, even if within the non-refundable period. Participants must provide valid documentation to request a refund under these terms.
  • Process for Cancellation Requests:

All cancellations must be submitted in writing using the Company’s Cancellation Request Form, which can be requested from admin@technotraining.co.za
Refunds, where applicable, will be processed within 10 business days from the date of the approved request.

6. Participation and Attendance

  • Participants are required to engage fully in all course activities, including hands-on practical tasks and assignments.
  • Attendance will be tracked for both Face-to-Face and Remote/Distance Learning programs. Participants must meet the attendance requirements to qualify for certification.
  • Failure to meet the minimum attendance or participation requirements may result in disqualification from the program.

7. Access to Learning Materials

  • Participants will have access to course materials (e.g., documents, videos, guides) for the duration of the course.
  • Course materials are for personal educational use only and may not be shared, reproduced, or distributed without permission.
  • Access to digital platforms and materials will expire upon completion of the course or after 3 months of inactivity.

8. Third-Party Partners for Practical Tasks

  • For certain lab-intensive or hands-on practical tasks, Participants may need to use third-party platforms or services.
  • The Company makes every effort to ensure smooth access and functionality of third-party services; however, we cannot be held responsible for any disruptions or issues that arise due to third-party systems.
  • If Participants encounter problems with third-party platforms, the Company will assist in resolving these issues as quickly as possible, but no guarantees can be made for immediate resolutions.

9. The Certification Process and Procedure

  • Techno Training Institute offers programs accredited by the MICT SETA and QCTO. Certification will be issued to Participants who are assessed as competent by a registered Assessor and Moderator.
  • The assessments must be verified and endorsed by the MICT SETA or QCTO to be valid.
  • The MICT SETA or QCTO will issue a certificate in line with the conditions of accreditation as outlined by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) and the SAQA ETQA Regulations.
  • Certificates are issued following the moderation and verification process by the MICT SETA or QCTO, which may take between 1 to 8 months. The Company has no control over this timeline. The delay depends on the external moderation and verification processes, and Participants will be notified as soon as their certificates are available.
  • Participants will be informed when their certificates are ready for collection or distribution.

10. Liability

  • The Company is not liable for any personal injury, loss, or damage incurred during face-to-face training, except where gross negligence by the Company is proven.
  • For Remote/Distance Learning programs, the Company is not responsible for technical issues beyond its control, such as internet outages, hardware failures, or platform malfunctions on the Participant’s side.
  • The Company is not responsible for any disruptions caused by third-party platforms used for lab-intensive or practical tasks, though we will make every effort to resolve such issues.

11. Intellectual Property

  • All course content, materials, and intellectual property remain the exclusive property of Techno Training Institute.
  • Participants are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to use the course materials for personal educational purposes only. Unauthorised sharing, reproduction, or commercial use of the materials is prohibited.

12. Privacy and Data Protection

  • Techno Training Institute is committed to protecting the personal information of its Participants in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
  • Participants’ personal information will only be used for the administration and delivery of the course.
  • The Company will not share personal information with third parties unless necessary for certification purposes or required by law.
  • Participants have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of their personal information in accordance with POPIA. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for more details.

13. Changes to Terms and Conditions

  • The Company reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Participants will be informed of any changes, and continued participation in the course signifies acceptance of the revised terms.

14. Dispute Resolution

  • Any disputes arising from these Terms and Conditions will first be addressed through negotiation between the parties.
  • If no resolution is reached, the dispute may be escalated to mediation or legal proceedings under South African law. The applicable jurisdiction will be South African courts.

15. Use of Online Platforms

  • For Remote/Distance Learning programs, Participants are responsible for maintaining a stable internet connection and having compatible devices.
  • The Company reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to online platforms if a Participant violates any part of these Terms and Conditions.
